Lauren Henley is a doctoral candidate in the History Department at the University of Texas at Austin. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in History and African and African-American Studies. A native of Virginia, Henley focuses her research on the American South at the turn of the twentieth century. In addition to using archival records in her work, she explores oral histories, cultural artifacts, and digital platforms to make her research appealing and applicable to everyday audiences.
